The Primoplan is actually a modernized and coated version of the same named lens designed and introduced pre-war. None the less, this lens enjoy quite famed reputation as being eccentric in its optical design (a radically modified triplet) and its performance, being hailed as "amazing" at its time of introduction. All M42 Primoplan are manufactured in light alloy mount. most are in pre-set version but there do exist a very are and early variation with manual diaphram and much smaller filter mount (probably 32mm).
