Really fine lens. I could compare it to Jupiter 21M 200/4 and Meyer Optik Orestegor 200/4. Really sharp at full aperture with no signs of CA, which is easily seen with Jupiter till two steps down, and Orestegor till one step down. If I could judge, Takumar has the best resolution of these three 200/4 beasts, and the best CA correction, although Jupiter and Orestegor renders slightly different images - a bit more contrasty. For "BOKEH" enthusiasts Orestegor could be superior due to it's many, many blades of diaphragm. For macro maniacs J21M could be better choice as it can be focused a bit closer, and it's raw mass makes image kind of stabiliser.

I concur. This is one fine lens! I got it years ago, and still use it regularly. Never been serviced, yet like so many lenses from that era, it works and feels like new. Silky smooth. Color rendition and clarity are excellent, and except when shooting into bright light sources, looks as good to me as the SMC lens.
